Qûcheanya Phonology

1.1  Sounds (in IPA)

Qûcheanya has the following phonemes:

Obstruents: /p t c k q ɸ s ç x χ p͡ɸ ʦ k͡x ʀ/ (written <p t c k q f s ch kh qh pf ts kkh r>)

Sonorant Consonants: /l ʎ m n ɲ/ (written <l ly m n ny>)

Vowels: /a e i o u ə a: e: i: o: u: ai ei iə eə/ (usually written <ah e i o u a â ê î ô û ai ei ia ea> for ease of reading by native English speakers, but an alternative exists where /a ə/ are written <a ë>)

1.2  Phonotactics

Syllable structure is strictly CV (where V can be a short vowel, a long vowel, or a diphthong).  Syllables without onsets are not allowed, and codas are not allowed.  Stress falls on the rightmost syllable that is either a diphthong or a long vowel; if the word consists of only short vowels, the stress is on the first syllable..

1.3  Allophony

To be determined...
